Morning sickness

Just a couple of quick hits today:

First, the new Carnival of Education is up and running over at Bellringers. The theme is Meet the Teacher Night, and there are several great posts to check out.

Next up, I had to call in sick yesterday due to feeling like crap. Felt like it today too, but since the doctor told me yesterday that I didn't have strep, I figured I needed to go and face the children.

However, the best piece of news I got also came yesterday, when my wife and I went to HER doctor and confirmed that she (my wife, not the doctor) is indeed pregnant! I'm gonna have a kiddo of my own!

I'm thankful for the last nine years of seeing various examples of how NOT to raise a child. I can't wait to be a father! :)

Congrats! There is truly nothing better than being a parent! ...and your teaching will take on a whole new dimension when you are a dad.

my husband and I both taught for 10 years before kids and then 2 boys....it was and is great! It helps to use the negatives as opposites for what you choose to do with with your children:)

Congratulations! Although as a PAIR of teachers, you should probably start working on that baby name now...since the list of names that have been ruined by That Kid is sure to be quite long. =)

Congratulations on your good news! Watch out though, when I was pregnant with my first child, my husband matched me pound for pound for the first six months. Unfortunately for him, he never lost his "baby" weight and mine was gone by the time she was a year old!

GREAT news, John! Although I've always felt kind of sorry for the sons and daughters of teachers, I'm sure you'll be an amazing dad!!

Congrats on the little. I can only imagine what fun he/she will have with you two as parents! A little light saber of his/her own, I'm sure. And I went and got my Kindle version of the new book - So, can you come to Tennessee and sign my Kindle for me?
